Fired Up From the Fever, the title inspired by the book The Fever by Sonia Shah, is a project that began in November of 2011. To make a long story short, after my dad and I read The Fever by Sonia Shah and The Imaginations of Unreasonable Men by Bill Shore, we knew that we wanted to get involved in the worldwide malaria prevention, treatment, and eradication movement. We planned to go to India to focus on the East Godavari area which is a high malaria endemic area in all of Andhra Pradesh, India.

 

Our malaria team focuses on preventative measures, specifically education that integrates agricultural aspects, to eradicate Falciparum malaria, which festers within this tribal belt.
